Caster Semenya who made headlines more for the debate over her gender than sport wants to dedicate her 2012 Olympics success to former South African president Nelson Mandela.
Semenya, 21 from South Africa is the former world 800 metres champio. She was forced out of competition for nearly a year following gender tests until athletics chiefs finally cleared her.
Semenya believes she still owes the former president a huge debt for supporting her during the darkest hours of her life.
She seems to have gained her confidence back after a two-year ordeal and believe that she will win a Gold medal for Madiba under her new coach former Olympic champion Maria Mutola.
